01No affiliation, endorsement or integration
SWLEF is an independent private registry. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, certified by, partnered with or integrated into any platform, network, store or service referenced on the Service, including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), Snapchat, Threads, Twitch, Kick, LinkedIn, Spotify, SoundCloud, Anghami, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Pinterest, Telegram, Discord, GitHub, Likee, Kwai, Bluesky, Website, App Stores, and their respective operators. No platform has reviewed, approved or adopted SWLEF’s methodology, records or certificates. Where a written agreement with a specific platform exists, it will be named expressly on the Service; absent such a statement, none exists.
02Trademarks and logos
Platform names, logos and icons are trademarks of their respective owners. SWLEF uses them in their nominative sense only — to identify the platform on which an account exists — in accordance with each platform’s brand guidelines where published. Their display does not imply any relationship. Trademark owners may request changes to the way their mark is displayed by writing to dmca@swlef.com.
03What a platform connection proves
| Method | How it works | What it proves |
|---|---|---|
| Official sign-in (OAuth 2.0 with PKCE) | The company signs in on the platform’s own consent screen; SWLEF receives an identity token with the minimum read-only scope the platform offers | That the person completing the flow could sign in to that account at that moment |
| Verification code in profile | SWLEF issues a unique code; the company places it in the account’s public bio/about section; SWLEF reads the public profile and confirms it | That the person could edit that account’s public profile |
| DNS TXT record | The code is published as a TXT record on the company’s domain | That the person controls the domain’s DNS |
| Meta tag on website | The code is placed in the HTML head of the company website | That the person can edit the website |
A connection therefore proves control of an account or domain at verification time. It does not prove that the company owns the content published on the account, that the platform recognises the company as a rights holder, that the account holds any rights-management privileges, or that the account is in good standing with the platform. Connections are re-checked periodically; a connection that can no longer be confirmed is marked lapsed and is omitted from certificates issued afterwards.
04Scopes, tokens and what SWLEF never does
- SWLEF requests only identity/read scopes required to confirm which account signed in (for example a channel ID or profile ID). It never requests publishing, messaging, advertising, payment or management scopes.
- Access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and are used solely to re-confirm the connection. They are deleted when the connection is removed.
- SWLEF never posts, comments, messages, edits, uploads, deletes, follows, monetises or changes settings on any connected account.
- You may revoke SWLEF’s access at any time from the platform’s connected-apps settings or from the SWLEF dashboard.
05Rights-management tools and platform procedures
References to YouTube Content ID, Meta Rights Manager, TikTok intellectual-property reporting, OTT content-management systems and similar tools describe how a SWLEF evidence package may be used by a rights holder in those procedures. SWLEF does not operate, access or file within those tools, does not have special standing with platform trust-and-safety teams, and cannot cause content to be claimed, blocked, monetised or removed. Platforms apply their own eligibility criteria, evidence requirements, dispute procedures and timelines, which may differ from SWLEF’s methodology and may change without notice.
A SWLEF record should be read by platform teams as an evidence package reference: a structured, time-stamped summary of what a rights holder submitted and how it was reviewed, with a live verification page. It is offered to assist their assessment, never to replace it.
06Platform decisions
Every decision of a platform — to accept or reject a rights-management application, to uphold or release a claim, to remove or reinstate content, to suspend an account — is the platform’s own. SWLEF is not responsible for such decisions, does not guarantee any outcome, and has no authority to reverse them. Where a platform decision contradicts a SWLEF status, SWLEF re-reviews the record under the Evidence Review Methodology and records the decision in the audit trail.
07Contact for platforms
Platform trust-and-safety, legal and partnerships teams may verify any certificate at swlef.com/verify without an account, and may write to dmca@swlef.com to confirm that specific documents are on file for a record (with the registrant’s consent), to report misuse of the SWLEF name, or to request changes to how their platform is referenced.
