1. Operator of the service / Exploitant du service
SWLEF is operated from its registered office in Geneva, Switzerland. It is a private, independent registry and compliance review service: it is not a court, a regulator, a collecting society or a governmental authority, and it does not host the audiovisual content it records. Registry records, certificates and review notes are evidence-based references issued under the registry’s own published procedures and stand alongside — not in place of — official registration systems, legal processes and platform policies.
SWLEF est exploité depuis son siège à Genève, Suisse. Il s’agit d’un registre privé et indépendant ; il n’est ni un tribunal, ni une autorité, ni une société de gestion collective, et n’héberge pas les œuvres qu’il recense.
2. Registered office and valid service of notices / Siège et notifications
The registered office is Rue du Rhône 100, 1204 Geneva, Switzerland. Formal notices may be served by registered post at that address. Electronic notices — rights notices, takedown requests, counter-notices, data-protection requests and legal correspondence — are validly received at dmca@swlef.com; every incoming message to that address receives an automatic acknowledgment with a case reference, which must be quoted in all follow-ups.
3. Designated agent for rights and takedown notices / Agent désigné
The SWLEF Rights & Takedown Desk, reachable at dmca@swlef.com and by post at the registered office, is the designated recipient of infringement notices, DMCA-style notices (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)), notices under the EU Digital Services Act and equivalent regimes, counter-notices and appeals. The requirements for a complete notice are set out in the Evidence Policy and the Appeals & Disputes Policy.
4. Responsible for content / Responsable du contenu
Editorial responsibility for the content of swlef.com and rights.swlef.com lies with SWLEF Registry Operations — Compliance & Legal Desk, at the registered office in Geneva. Work metadata displayed in public listings (titles, years, posters, production companies) originates from rights-holder submissions and public metadata sources; each record states its source type and review status.
5. Data protection / Protection des données
SWLEF is the controller for personal data processed through the service under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/nLPD) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR. Data-protection requests are addressed to dmca@swlef.com or by post to the registered office. Details: Privacy Notice and Data Retention Policy.
6. Governing law and jurisdiction / Droit applicable et for
The use of the service and all registry procedures are governed by Swiss law, to the exclusion of its conflict-of-law rules and of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Geneva, Switzerland. Mandatory forums available to consumers under their domestic law remain reserved.
7. Dispute resolution / Règlement des litiges
Disputes about a registry record, a verification status or a notice are first handled through the internal appeals procedure described in the Appeals & Disputes Policy. The European Commission operates a platform for online dispute resolution at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr, which EU consumers may use; SWLEF is neither obliged nor willing to participate in proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
8. Hosting and security / Hébergement
The service is operated on dedicated servers located in the European Union (France) under the operator’s administrative control, with encrypted transport (TLS), signed outbound email (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and daily backups. Certificate integrity is protected by SHA-256 content fingerprints and HMAC-SHA256 registry signatures that can be checked at swlef.com/verify.
9. Intellectual property / Propriété intellectuelle
The SWLEF name, the shield mark, the certificate design and the texts of this website are protected. Titles, posters and company names shown in the registry belong to their respective rights holders and are displayed for identification purposes only. Reuse of registry data beyond personal verification requires written permission.
10. Liability / Responsabilité
Liability for the content of this website and for registry statuses is limited as set out in the Disclaimer, the Platform Disclaimer and the Terms of Service. External links are provided for convenience; their content is the responsibility of the respective operators.
Operating entity note
SWLEF may be operated, maintained, or technically supported by its operating entity. Platform authorization, registry status, and evidence review remain SWLEF-specific.
